The newest member of the Jones Family! Everyone meet Rosco Jenkins Jones; Rosco for short. I have always wanted a puppy my entire life and have never had one, so for my {Early} birthday present, I bought myself a puppy! Technically it was from Matt, but because of the long hours that he works, I picked Rosco out all by myself and brought him home. He is a really cute little guy. He follows me around wherever I go. I’m afraid I’m going to squish him! He is so much fun! The only problem… I’ve never had to train a puppy, and neither has Matt. So, if anyone has any puppy potty training tips, we would GREATLY appreciate it!

Awww, he is so CUTE! Congrats on becoming "Puppy Parents"! I am so excited for you guys! Happy {Early} Birthday! We used a kennel to help with the puppy potty training. Some people think this is mean but we weren't mean about it. We would take him outside to use the "bathroom" and tell him to go "widdle" and when he did we rewarded him with a treat and then playing with him for about 30 mins give or take. Then we would put him back in his kennel and start all over again. He caught on really quick cause if he went potty he got to stay out and play longer with us. If he had an accident in the house we would stick his nose close to it and tell him outside and then put him outside but not reward him by playing. After he would go back to his kennel and we would try again. Like I said before some people don't like this method, but it worked for us. You just have to remember to not use the kennel as something bad cause it is also "their safe place". {That is if you use a kennel at all.} But they do have books at the library or at your local pet store on potty traning your puppy. Good luck! So happy for you! Call if you need anything. ;)
What a cute little puppy!!
How did you pick the name for your puppy? What kind breed is the puppy? He looks like a cute little fur ball. I don't know anything about training a puppy so no advice from me on that.
JayDee!!!! He IS super cute!! :)
Congrats on little Rosco. But when we we're tryin to train my little puppy Scooter, it was SO hard! He is first, a boy. So he was peeing on EVERYTHING!! It was frustrating. So, we kept him in one area with a baby gate and then we started putting him in a bigger kennel at night. (because animals won't go to the bathroom where they sleep). We just had to be really good about taking him outside and making sure he went before he came back in and making sure to reward him when he did go potty outside! haha It took about 9 months for Scooter to figure it out, but he's all good now. GOOD LUCK with little Rosco!! :)
Cute dog, and I love the name!
Matt, just yesterday I almost texted you with the Uncle Elwyn rap. It got in my head somehow and made me laugh-- "my Elwyn is tall, my Elwyn is small, my Elwyn plays me in basketball"
Ah! Adorable! I'm super jealous! What a cutie. Good luck with training!
I trained my puppy when I was 12, but I don't remember all the details. But I'll call you and let you know what I think i did. I may not be much help... after all, i can't keep my own child from getting poop on the couch!
Cute puppy. Rosco is tiny. I like that he has a middle name and his entire name is bigger than he is. Happy early birthday! We got Derrick's birthday present in April and his birthday is this month. It happens.
How stinking cute!!! Good luck with that. It is just like having a baby the biggest difference is it would be weird to have a diaper on a dog.
