Colorado Springs, Here we ARE!

After a really long 8 hour drive (Ok it really wasn't too long, but it seemed like forever!) We finally arrived to our new home. We left Utah bright and early Wednesday morning around 6:30 and arrived at our new apartment around 3:45. The drive was really pretty, but I slept through most of it. Something about cars just makes me snooze! Matt really enjoyed the scenery though.

Our apartment is pretty nice. I was surprised that we have 2 bedrooms. What will we do with that second bedroom? I don't know, but we do have it! We now have our very own washer and dryer, which is a HUGE plus! Although our apartment is nice, it just isn't home. After Matt and I settled in, and arranged everything just right, we looked around and just cried (well, I cried) We could only bring the bare necessities and so it just seems to be a house, not a home.. ya know? We will adjust though. The rest of the crew, including some family and friends will be joining us on Saturday, and that will help a lot with the loneliness that we now feel. We can't wait!

On a side note: We have definitely noticed that we aren't in Utah anymore. It is our second day here, and we have yet to find an LDS church! Can you believe that!? You walk down the street in Utah and you can see 5 just on one street! We have seen several other very large church buildings though. I think they are just worship centers, but they look pretty busy. Matt and I want to to go to one just to see what it would be like. Matt really thinks it would be funny to walk in one and announce that we are "Mormons" and see their reaction... I however am not so sure....

We will post pictures of our new home as soon as we can!
We love everyone back home, and miss you all already.

My sweet baby girl, I was so relieved to hear that you made it safe and sound. I am even happier to hear that your drive only seemed like 8 hours instead of the 9 hours you actually drove according to the times you posted. teehehehe I'm sorry to hear that you feel so displaced. It is hard to leave the life you have always known and enter a whole new world. When your friends (and family) join you on Saturday, I'm sure you will feel much better.

Remember I'm only a phone call away. I love you so much bubby girl. Take care of yourself and your sweet husband.

I'm sorry it doesn't feel like home. Hopefully you both adjust soon to the new place.

I know there's 3 stakes in Colorado Springs. I've been to 3 buildings there. you'll run into them eventually... it just won't be every 1/2 mile like Utah. ;)
You're going to end up loving your time there. I promise! Its just hard getting used to being away from everyone at first. Remember, its just for the summer. :) Love you!
