This summer, our ward hosted a father and son camp out. Matt originally wasn't planning on taking Parker, but later was convinced by a good friend to join in on the fun. Parker had never been camping before, so the weekend before their grand adventure, we decided to camp out in the backyard as a family. We roasted s'mores over the BBQ and enjoyed the great outdoors.... er.. our backyard. Parker absolutely loved it, and it made him that much more excited for his real camp out.
The day of the boys' camp out, it was extremely rainy but the boys were in high spirits and packed their bags anyway.
They were able to make some great memories and have lots of fun with each other. I never thought I would get so excited to see them leave on such a fun adventure. I wasn't necessarily excited to see them go (I definitely missed them) but I was so excited for them to make such great memories.
