Parker seems to be growing up faster and faster as each day goes by. It seems every day he decides he wants to do something the "big boy" way. He has gone from a high chair to a regular chair at the table, big cups instead of sippy ones, big spoons rather than the childrens ones. I swear I have blinked, and he has turned all big on me. Parker climbs everywhere and onto everything he possibly can. He can now climb onto our bed without any help, which means my bed never stays made for an entire day.
Parker recently has taken on the role of big brother to his little teddy bear. He still totes teddy everywhere, but now Parker also has to make sure teddy gets to do everything Parker gets to do. The other day, Parker took his entire cup of milk and fed it to his very thirsty teddy bear. Teddy had to go in the wash, and Parker was devastated for the rest of the day while teddy was being cleaned. The following morning, Teddy got another bath..... in the toilet. Teddy gets a lot of love around our house.
Parker has recently discovered the nude. He has been taking of his shirt for several months now, but that just isn't enough for him anymore. 2 days ago I found him butt naked in his crib after his afternoon nap. Butt naked. You can only imagine what my prayers sounded like as I searched his bed for any uninvited mess. Again, last night we put Parker to bed, and 2 hours later we heard him crying in his bed, I assumed he did the dirty, so went to change him and what did I find!? A naked bum. Luckily no mess, but still. This kid is persistent. To top it all off, this morning I got Parker out of his bed, we ate breakfast together, we played with some toys....we were having a great time. I pinched his little bum, because its just that cute, and to my horror, he wasn't wearing a diaper!!! The little stinker took his diaper off AGAIN last night, and then thought he could get away with it by putting his pajama bottoms back on, and stashing the evidence to the side of his crib. WHO DOES THAT!? I guess I should be thankful that he doesn't make a mess in his bed, but still. I am terrified for the morning that there is a huge mess.
I just don't know what to do about this little situation. The boy is only 17 months old, way too young to begin potty training, but I have to wonder. He is starting to want to do a lot more "big boy" things... I think I am just talking crazy mom talk, fantasizing about not having to change diapers anymore. But seriously, if anyone has any advice on how to keep those diapers on, PLEASE share!

Maybe you could try potty training him. Kaden was 2 1/2 but Perry was 18months when he first peed on the potty. Does Parker wear onesies? So long as my boys had onesies on-- with the tight locking snaps-- they couldn't get their diapers off. We had this problem with Perry, but he couldn't get his onesie off, so diaper stayed on. Also, one-piece pj's. Hope that helps a little. If not... GOOD LUCK SISTAH!!! :)
Putting his jammies on inside out seemed to work. I would never have thought of that.
