In the life of our 2 1/2 year old

I always knew I would say some things to Parker that would be undeniably strange. I thought that I had prepared myself for those times but recently those sayings have reached a whole new level! A few of the most bizarre are:

"Son- please don't lick the dog!" -- and I've said it several times.
"Parker! Don't you dare pee on your sister's head!!!" I was pretty frantic. -- He did it anyways.

Once, I even threatened Parker that his ears would fall off if he continued doing whatever it was that he was doing.. Not my best parenting moment, but it happened. :)

Other funny things Parker has said/done recently that we wanted to document:

The other day, I was feeling pretty down on myself and somehow Parker picked up on it. He looked at me and sweetly said, "Pretty mama. You so pretty." It melted my heart and made me feel so much better. Such a little sweetheart.

While in his room (Past his bedtime) he came to the door and shouted ARG!!!! I'M A PIRATE!!!

Parker was giving me a check-up with his toy doctor set. As he was checking my ears he said "mama! You are melting!" I guess that explains why I couldn't find anything in the house that day-my brains were mush...

Whenever Parker is in his room for timeout and he feels like his timeout should be over he will knock on the door and say "knock-knock.. is anyone home!?"

While going through the car wash, Cambri got a little spooked by the loud noises. Parker leaned as close to her as he could, put his hand on her car seat and said "It's ok baby.. it just tickles!" I love that he is already becoming that big brother always looking out for his baby sister.

Whenever we walk into a dark room Parker ALWAYS says' It sure is dark in here..." Very Denis-the-Menace-like.

Every time we see the temple Parker says "Mama! Temple! I go on mission....in yellow school bus! We are still trying to figure out the connection between a mission and a school bus.. maybe he knows something we don't??

Often, while climbing into the car, Parker says "Let's go on a abenchure (Adventure) mama!!" I simply adore this and hope he never stops. We have so much fun as we pretend we are on a pirate ship being chased by a giant whale or traveling through the jungle trying to find monkeys all while driving to the grocery store. Whatever the adventure may be, it is my favorite to imagine it with him.

Exchange between Matt and Parker: (Matt had forgotten that he had taken the dog outside to potty and it was raining)
M- Oh shoot!!! The dog!
P- overhearing Matt from the other room, Parker comes bounding into sight, screaming- "Don't shoot the dog!!! That's  a NO-NO!" We sure love that boy!

a remote is called a "new-mope"
an escalator is called a "why-bator"
candy canes are called "canny- cans"

While driving one time, Parker threw his shoe in my direction. I promptly told him that it definitely was not ok to do that. He then took his sock off and nailed me in the back of the head. Before I could say a word, he said "It's ok mommy! It's soft!"

Whenever Parker sneezes he says "Bless you, me!"

"I like wo-gurt with cheese-its. And strawberries. And blueberries in the tunnel." -Spoken like a true poet

Parker recently has been walking in his sleep. The first time we noticed, he was locked in his room (yes we lock him in every night...) and he ran right into the door, as I was passing it. It gave me quite a scare!

Our house is definitely more lively with Parker around. We are so glad we have him to bring a smile to our faces every day.
